Field Service Technician

Location: North Carolina and South Carolina – (Home-Based)
Travel: 50% overnight travel / 50% day travel, returning home for the evening.
Summary:
We are seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team and support our CNC machine distribution operations, going out to client sites for mechanical / electrical troubleshooting and repair, as well as installation of equipment. This role is based in the Carolinas, with a balanced mix of travel: 50% local daily travel (returning home each night) and 50% extended travel (staying in hotels for larger installation projects). Key Responsibilities:
- Service & Maintenance:
- Conduct routine and emergency maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues with precision.
- Installations:
- Lead or assist in machine installations, following manufacturer guidelines and client specifications.
- Set up mechanical assemblies and integrate hydraulic/pneumatic systems per schematics.
- Diagnostics & Repair:
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics for troubleshooting.
- Perform adjustments, alignments, and repairs to restore machinery to operational standards.
- Client Interaction:
- Build strong relationships with clients, providing professional service and clear communication.
- Act as a trusted technical expert, explaining diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
- Travel:
- Cover a designated service territory in the Carolinas, traveling daily to 1-2 client sites for maintenance or repair.
- Participate in extended travel for larger installations, staying in company-paid hotels.
- Occasionally travel to Georgia for team meetings, training, or collaboration.
Requirements:
- 2+ years experience working as a Technician
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities.
- Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and electrical schematics.
- Experience with CNCs or machining centers, a plus.
- Previous experience servicing industrial machinery, ideally CNC equipment, but not required.
- Ability to professionally represent the company in front of customers and provide clear communication.
- Willing to travel locally to client sites, and stay overnight when needed.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $50,000–$70,000, based on experience.
- Overtime: Paid at time and a half; moderate overtime opportunities ensure a healthy work-life balance.
