Mechanical Quality Inspector
Location: Alpharetta, Georgia

We’re hiring a Mechanical Quality Inspector to join our production team and help ensure the accuracy, consistency, and quality of manufactured components. In this role, you'll be responsible for hands-on inspections, documentation, and communication with internal teams to maintain high standards throughout the production cycle.

Hourly Rate: $33 to $35 per hour. Offer will be based on experience and interview results. 

Hours: Monday-Friday: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with production and leadership to define and uphold quality benchmarks
  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision instruments
  • Conduct visual checks and dimensional measurements based on inspection criteria and documented standards
  • Ensure measuring tools are calibrated and operating correctly; report any malfunctions promptly
  • Review incoming materials for compliance with specifications and document any discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, defects, and test data in compliance with quality systems
  • Flag non-conforming parts, initiate rejection processes, and complete related documentation
  • Monitor ongoing production runs to verify adherence to quality requirements
  • Support internal quality audits and suggest process improvements to enhance product reliability
  • Train team members on quality procedures and inspection techniques as needed
  • Comply with all safety regulations and workplace protocols
  • Support ISO 9001 compliance and documentation practices

Key Competencies & Skills:

  • Strong safety mindset and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of mechanical measurement tools (e.g., gauge pins, calipers, micrometers)
  • Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and blueprint interpretation
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality systems
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, ERP platforms, and SharePoint
  • Analytical thinking and a methodical approach to quality control
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally across departments

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing or production setting
  • Experience with coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) is a plus
  • Green Belt certification in Six Sigma is a strong asset
  • Familiarity with metrology principles and equipment calibration
  • Clear, respectful communication and a commitment to team collaboration
