Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Plumbing Service Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems and equipment. This field-based role is critical to diagnosing technical issues, resolving customer service concerns, and preventing future operational or service-related problems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality workmanship while serving as a key communication link between the company and its customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate activities related to the installation, service, and repair of plumbing systems and equipment

  • Review and manage service schedules, with assistance from the Department Manager, to ensure timely completion of service calls

  • Coordinate project materials, equipment needs, and delivery schedules to maintain productivity and meet projected timelines

  • Analyze plumbing systems to determine root causes of issues and recommend repair, replacement, or corrective action

  • Double-check completed work to minimize callbacks and repeat service issues

  • Provide on-site technical assistance to troubleshoot and repair plumbing equipment and systems

  • Complete service tickets accurately, legibly, and thoroughly, and submit them in a timely manner

  • Serve as a communication link between customers and the company to ensure effective service delivery and customer satisfaction

  • Respond to service calls promptly, including after-hours emergency service when assigned

  • Attend training programs, schools, and seminars to maintain and advance technical knowledge

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on safety

  • Perform additional duties as required to support service operations

Qualifications & Skills

  • Associate degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, manuals, drawings, and instructions

  • Ability to write routine service reports and correspondence

  • Strong verbal communication skills with customers and internal teams

  • Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems in situations with limited standardization

  • Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, and schedule-based instructions

  • Working knowledge of mathematical concepts including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions

  • Familiarity with basic geometry and trigonometry as applied to plumbing systems preferred

  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to customer sites as required

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Frequent use of hands for handling tools, materials, and equipment

  • Regular reaching, climbing, and balancing

  • Occasional standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and verbal communication

  • Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds

  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical hazards

  • Occasional exposure to high or precarious places, outdoor weather conditions, and vibration
