Position Summary
The Estimator is responsible for preparing and coordinating complete and accurate project cost estimates. This role develops proposal packages that may include preliminary schedules, project assumptions, clarifications, detailed cost estimates, and other project-specific documentation.
The Estimator works closely with internal teams, vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure accurate project scope, cost forecasting, and alignment with project requirements. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

Review and develop project criteria to support the estimating process

Perform quantity take-offs across multiple stages of design and develop corresponding cost estimates

Develop and evaluate alternates and value engineering opportunities

Conceptualize designs and estimates when limited project information is available

Participate in client presentations related to project proposals and estimates

Solicit, review, and tabulate proposals from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors

Identify potential project risks and collaborate with the team to develop mitigation strategies

Coordinate with the design team on awarded projects through multiple phases of design development

Review progress drawings with design and operations teams to ensure alignment with project scope, quantities, and budget

Assist operations teams with subcontractor procurement

Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent industry experience)

2–5+ years of estimating experience in construction or related project-based environments

Experience performing quantity take-offs and cost estimating

Understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation

Experience working with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers during the estimating process

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven project environment

Proficiency with estimating software, Excel, and construction documentation tools
