About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior BIM Coordinator to lead and manage BIM coordination efforts across complex construction projects. This role is responsible for overseeing the full coordination lifecycle, including 3D modeling, clash detection, and collaboration across multiple trades.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in BIM platforms, a deep understanding of construction workflows, and the ability to lead coordination efforts that drive project efficiency, accuracy, and successful field execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead BIM coordination across multiple trades, ensuring alignment between design intent and construction execution
- Develop, manage, and maintain detailed 3D models using Autodesk Revit
- Perform clash detection and coordination using Navisworks and drive resolution with project stakeholders
- Translate 2D drawings and specifications into fully coordinated 3D models
- Analyze project designs to ensure constructability and identify efficiencies
- Produce shop drawings, spool drawings, and installation documentation to support prefabrication and field teams
- Generate material takeoffs, reports, and model-based deliverables
- Lead and participate in coordination meetings with internal teams, subcontractors, and external partners
- Supervise and support a team of 2 BIM staff, providing guidance, training, and oversight of deliverables
- Ensure adherence to BIM standards, naming conventions, and project requirements
- Maintain organized project documentation, including models, drawings, and related files
- Support prefabrication efforts through accurate and detailed model outputs
- Mentor and support junior BIM staff, drafters, and coordinators
- Assist in developing and maintaining BIM libraries, standards, and workflows
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to resolve coordination and design issues
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of experience in BIM coordination within construction environments
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD
- Experience with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel)
- Strong knowledge of BIM processes, coordination workflows, and model management
- Demonstrated experience with MEP systems and construction methodologies
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and technical specifications
- Proven ability to lead coordination efforts and work across cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
