Base Salary: $80,000–$90,000
Total Earning Potential: Up to approximately $150,000 with straight-time overtime
Schedule: Third shift, generally 10:00 p.m.–10:00 a.m.
Summary
TES Recruiting is partnering with an established heavy manufacturing operation to identify a 3rd Shift Maintenance Supervisor. This individual will lead a team of seven maintenance technicians and oversee the safe, reliable operation of industrial production equipment during the overnight shift.
The ideal candidate is an assertive but fair leader with strong electrical troubleshooting and heavy industrial maintenance experience. This person must be comfortable managing experienced employees with strong personalities, enforcing accountability, and serving as the primary salaried leader onsite during certain weekend shifts.
The current schedule includes significant extended-hour and weekend coverage. The company is working to improve the long-term staffing and scheduling model. Additional hours are compensated at the employee’s straight-time hourly equivalent, creating the potential to earn approximately $150,000 annually.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, develop, and hold accountable a team of approximately seven industrial maintenance technicians.
- Direct third-shift maintenance activities to support safe and uninterrupted plant operations.
- Lead troubleshooting and repair of heavy industrial production equipment, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Assign work based on production priorities, equipment needs, and technician capabilities.
- Ensure emergency repairs and preventive maintenance work are completed safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate maintenance priorities with Production, Facilities Engineering, and plant leadership.
- Ensure work orders are completed accurately and preventive maintenance schedules remain current.
- Investigate recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct safety meetings, investigate incidents and near misses, and enforce company and OSHA requirements.
- Monitor employee attendance, overtime, performance, work quality, and maintenance spending.
- Maintain appropriate spare-parts inventory and ensure technicians have the tools and information needed to complete their work.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required. Technical training, journeyman credentials, or an associate degree is preferred.
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience within a heavy manufacturing, metals, foundry, processing, building-products, or similarly demanding production environment.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills and experience maintaining heavy industrial machinery.
- Previous experience as a maintenance supervisor, foreman, lead technician, or comparable maintenance leader.
- Demonstrated ability to manage strong personalities and hold an experienced hourly workforce accountable.
- Working knowledge of industrial electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and computerized work-order systems.
- Strong safety knowledge, organizational ability, and communication skills.
- Willingness to work third shift, extended hours, and weekends based on operational needs.
- ??????????????Industrial Experience Required – Candidates must have hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial production machinery. Landscaping, groundskeeping, janitorial, residential property maintenance, and general facilities experience alone do not meet the technical requirements of this position.
