Summary
TES Recruiting is partnering with an established industrial manufacturer to identify a Fabrication Supervisor for its Kansas City operation. This hands-on production leadership role will lead a fabrication-focused department, ensuring the team delivers safe, efficient, high-quality output while meeting production schedules and cost objectives.
The ideal candidate is a floor-oriented manufacturing leader who can balance daily execution with continuous improvement, coach a diverse team, and step in where needed to keep work moving.
Key Responsibilities

Lead daily fabrication production activities to achieve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost objectives.

Plan staffing, assign work, and coordinate product flow based on schedules, work orders, equipment capacity, and employee capabilities.

Establish and maintain procedures that support consistent output, schedule attainment, and quality compliance.

Monitor department performance, address production constraints, and implement practical process improvements that increase efficiency and capability.

Maintain a safe, organized work environment and reinforce safety, maintenance, housekeeping, and company policy requirements.

Partner with quality, engineering, materials, maintenance, and other internal teams to resolve material, process, and product-quality issues.

Manage departmental costs and support budget goals through labor planning, waste reduction, and disciplined operational controls.

Train, coach, and evaluate team members; provide clear direction, constructive feedback, and appropriate performance management.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent manufacturing leadership experience will be considered.

5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial production environment.

Demonstrated ability to lead teams against safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost targets.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical documentation.

Strong communication, coaching, problem-solving, and organizational skills; comfortable working hands-on in a fast-paced production environment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn manufacturing or fabrication-related software.

Willingness to work overtime as needed and work in an industrial environment with noise, welding fumes, and varying temperatures.
