Summary
TES Recruiting is partnering with a global industrial manufacturer to identify a Global Director of Environmental, Health & Safety. This executive leadership role will lead the development and execution of a unified global EHS strategy across multiple manufacturing operations while partnering closely with executive leadership to strengthen safety culture, standardize management systems, and support continued operational growth.
This opportunity is best suited for a builder, not a maintainer. We're seeking a leader who has successfully transformed multi-site EHS organizations by establishing scalable systems, developing leadership accountability, and creating a culture where safety is viewed as an operational advantage rather than simply a compliance requirement. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable presenting strategy to executive leadership, coaching plant leaders through organizational change, and maintaining a visible presence on the manufacturing floor.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company's global Environmental, Health & Safety strategy across multiple manufacturing operations.
- Standardize EHS policies, management systems, reporting, and governance across international manufacturing facilities.
- Partner with executive leadership and operations to strengthen safety culture and leadership accountability throughout the organization.
- Lead environmental compliance, industrial hygiene, process safety, machine safeguarding, ergonomics, contractor safety, and regulatory programs.
- Direct enterprise risk assessments, serious incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and applicable international regulations.
- Integrate EHS into capital projects, facility expansions, acquisitions, and new site startups.
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing global EHS organization.
- Drive continuous improvement through audits, performance metrics, leading indicators, and proactive risk management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
- 12+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience, including leadership of multi-site manufacturing operations.
- Proven success building and implementing enterprise-wide EHS management systems within complex industrial manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, Process Safety Management, environmental compliance, and incident investigation.
- CSP certification strongly preferred. Additional certifications such as CIH, CHMM, NEBOSH, or ISO Lead Auditor are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to influence executive leadership, develop leaders, and drive organizational change across global manufacturing operations.
