Summary
The Lean Coordinator will lead continuous improvement efforts across fabrication operations while helping drive a strong culture around safety, operational discipline, and waste elimination. This individual will serve as the site Lean subject matter expert, supporting operational excellence initiatives through hands-on coaching, training, Kaizen facilitation, KPI development, and frontline engagement.
This is a highly visible role working closely with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to improve flow, reduce waste, strengthen standardization, and support long-term operational excellence. The ideal candidate is hands-on, energetic, and comfortable leading improvement efforts directly on the manufacturing floor.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead and facilitate Lean and continuous improvement activities including 5S, TPM, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Kanban, Set-Up Reduction, and problem-solving initiatives
• Serve as the internal Lean subject matter expert and coach for plant leadership and frontline teams
• Coordinate and maintain annual continuous improvement activity schedules across fabrication operations
• Support development and tracking of KPIs and visual management systems aligned with operational goals
• Deliver Lean training, workshops, and hands-on coaching for employees and internal Lean champions
• Facilitate Kaizen events and support implementation of sustainable process improvements
• Conduct root cause analysis and support corrective action development using structured problem-solving methodologies
• Partner with operational leadership to improve throughput, flow, efficiency, and overall plant performance
• Maintain continuous improvement reporting, training documentation, and operational records
• Support and reinforce all safety initiatives, policies, and OSHA compliance requirements
Qualifications
• Associate degree preferred in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, or related field
• 5+ years of manufacturing experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience required
• Experience facilitating Lean events, Kaizen activities, or operational improvement initiatives
• Strong knowledge of Lean tools including 5S, VSM, TPM, Kanban, Standard Work, QCPC, and Set-Up Reduction
• Strong communication, coaching, facilitation, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work cross-functionally and influence at all levels of the organization
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Hands-on leadership style with strong floor presence and engagement mindset
