About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations within a metal forming and press environment. This role is responsible for overseeing daily production activities, driving operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing principles, and ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. The Production Manager will lead production teams, optimize manufacturing processes, partner with cross-functional departments, and ensure customer on-time delivery while maximizing productivity and profitability. This position requires flexibility to support off-shift operations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute daily and weekly production schedules utilizing MRP systems to meet customer demand and delivery commitments.
  • Lead manufacturing operations, including metal forming, stamping, press operations, and fabrication processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing methodologies, including 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and SMED, to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase throughput.
  • Monitor and improve key manufacturing performance metrics, including On-Time Delivery (OTD), Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Scrap and Rework Rate, and Labor Efficiency.
  • Ensure products are manufactured in accordance with engineering specifications and quality standards while minimizing scrap and rework.
  • Lead, coach, train, and develop production supervisors and manufacturing personnel to foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Maintenance to maximize equipment uptime through preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Promote and enforce all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements through regular audits, safety observations, and incident investigations.
  • Monitor production costs and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce manufacturing expenses.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to support production goals, process improvements, and new product introductions.
  • Analyze production data and recommend process improvements, equipment upgrades, and capital investments to improve operational performance.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of manufacturing experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership or management experience within a manufacturing environment required.
  • Experience in metal forming, stamping, fabrication, press operations, or similar manufacturing processes preferred.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and capacity management.
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and SMED.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing performance metrics, including OTD, OEE, scrap, labor efficiency, and productivity.
  • Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
