About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment. This role is responsible for ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and in compliance with established quality standards while meeting production targets. The Production Supervisor will lead and develop production teams, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional departments to optimize manufacturing performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily manufacturing operations on assigned production lines and/or shifts to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives.
  • Work a scheduled shift of 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM and provide leadership and operational oversight during assigned hours.
  • Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations, policies, and procedures while promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Conduct and support safety training, observations, audits, and corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensure daily Quality Layered Audits are completed and corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
  • Support quality initiatives, root cause corrective measures (RCCM), and continuous improvement efforts to minimize defects and improve product quality.
  • Lead, coach, train, and develop production employees to maximize performance, engagement, and retention.
  • Maintain employee training records, skills matrices, standard work instructions, and operating procedures.
  • Manage workforce scheduling, time and attendance, overtime planning, and staffing requirements to support production goals.
  • Provide regular employee performance feedback, conduct performance evaluations, and address performance concerns through coaching and corrective action processes.
  • Monitor and manage production performance using key metrics including Safety, Quality, On-Time Delivery (OTD), Work Order Accuracy, and Cost.
  • Coordinate with Production Planning to execute production schedules and work orders while ensuring customer and operational requirements are met.
  • Communicate production status, performance gaps, downtime issues, and operational challenges to leadership and support teams in real time.
  • Ensure production documentation is accurate and complete, including production reports, downtime logs, and operational records.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies and implementing solutions to improve productivity, quality, and operational performance.
  • Maintain working knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes to effectively troubleshoot production issues and escalate concerns when necessary.
  • Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams to resolve equipment, process, and production challenges.
  • Support operator-led maintenance activities and ensure equipment issues are reported and addressed promptly.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience required; high-volume manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or people management experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience monitoring and improving manufacturing performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Working knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and manufacturing workflows.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
  • Experience with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and operational excellence principles preferred.
