Production Supervisor – Welding & Fabrication

A growing industrial manufacturer is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead welding and pipe-fit-up operations within a fabrication facility. This leader will be responsible for the safety, quality, throughput, and day-to-day performance of their assigned area while providing clear direction and development to a skilled hourly production team.
The ideal candidate is a strong floor leader with practical welding and fabrication knowledge, the confidence to hold people accountable, and the ability to use production data to solve problems. This is a great opportunity for an experienced lead or supervisor who wants meaningful ownership of a production area and its results.
Responsibilities

Lead daily welding and fabrication operations, ensuring the team meets safety, quality, throughput, and schedule requirements.

Own key area metrics including daily attainment, schedule adherence, first-pass yield, work in process, and quality performance.

Direct, coach, and develop hourly production employees; reinforce expectations, monitor performance, and apply policies consistently.

Provide technical guidance on welding methods, equipment use, work orders, and drawings to ensure work is completed accurately and to standard.

Identify quality concerns and nonconformances, partnering with Quality and Engineering to resolve repeat issues and maintain audit readiness.

Monitor equipment condition, communicate maintenance needs, and coordinate repairs or preventive actions with Maintenance.

Partner with Planning and Materials teams to ensure labor, parts, and materials are available to support the production schedule.

Drive continuous improvement through problem-solving, 5S, visual management, standard work, and targeted efficiency improvements.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

5+ years of manufacturing, welding, metal fabrication, or related industrial experience; lead or supervisory experience preferred.

Strong working knowledge of carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy welding processes, including FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW.

Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings, verify dimensions, and troubleshoot production or quality issues.

Strong communication, leadership, math, and computer skills, with comfort using Excel, Word, Outlook, and production data in daily decision-making.
