Project Scheduler

Location: Working on-site at the construction site for 12 months at a time.

Summary:
Project Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing construction project schedules to support effective planning and execution. This role collaborates closely with project teams to ensure accurate timelines, efficient resource allocation, and proactive identification of potential delays. The position is full-time and primarily based on-site at active construction projects. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules using Critical Path Method (CPM) principles

  • Coordinate with project managers, field teams, engineers, and subcontractors to create and update project timelines

  • Lead schedule development including baseline schedules, periodic updates, and recovery plans

  • Identify, analyze, and communicate schedule risks and impacts

  • Create Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and support project teams in schedule development

  • Monitor schedule progress and evaluate performance against planned milestones

  • Analyze variances related to schedule, budget, and resource allocation

  • Prepare and distribute regular schedule reports, including critical path analyses, short-term lookaheads, and narrative updates

  • Assess impacts related to deliveries, delays, time extensions, and claims

  • Support preconstruction efforts by developing proposal and baseline schedules

  • Participate in schedule reviews and collaborate on claims analysis as needed

  • Provide training and guidance on scheduling best practices to internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling and project controls

  • Proficiency in Critical Path Methodology (CPM)

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

  • Experience developing and managing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)

  • Advanced proficiency in scheduling software, including Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project

  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
