About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support manufacturing operations by ensuring products meet established quality standards and customer requirements. This role is responsible for driving quality initiatives across an assigned value stream, leading corrective action efforts, supporting customer quality requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional teams in investigating customer complaints, performing root cause analysis, and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate and complete Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and First Article Inspection (FAI) activities, ensuring timely submission of customer documentation and annual validations.
- Develop, maintain, and update inspection programs for Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), vision systems, and other inspection equipment.
- Monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) data and inspection results to ensure product conformity and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Operations to develop and maintain Control Plans, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEA), and other quality documentation.
- Lead or participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities, including the evaluation and disposition of nonconforming materials.
- Conduct internal process audits to verify compliance with quality standards, manufacturing procedures, and customer specifications.
- Develop standard work instructions, visual work aids, quality alerts, and inspection documentation to support manufacturing consistency.
- Perform and support internal calibration and verification activities for inspection equipment.
- Participate in Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (Gauge R&R) studies and measurement system analysis.
- Analyze customer complaints and quality trends to identify recurring issues and implement corrective actions that improve customer satisfaction.
- Train production personnel on quality inspection methods, measurement techniques, and inspection equipment as needed.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on improving product quality, reducing waste, and enhancing manufacturing performance.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of Quality Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment required.
- Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and statistical quality methodologies.
- Experience supporting automotive or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
- Working knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and First Article Inspection (FAI).
- Experience leading root cause investigations using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, or similar problem-solving tools.
- Experience performing Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (Gauge R&R) studies.
- Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and precision measurement techniques.
- Experience programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and vision inspection systems (e.g., Keyence or similar).
- Experience conducting internal and supplier audits to ISO 9001 or AS9100 or IATF 16949, or similar quality management standards.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization and with customers and suppliers.
