Quality Supervisor
Cookeville, TN | On-Site | Full-Time
A growing industrial manufacturer is seeking a Quality Supervisor to lead day-to-day quality assurance activities within a fabrication and production environment. This role will supervise quality inspectors and technicians, ensure adherence to the Quality Management System, and partner closely with Operations and Engineering to prevent defects, resolve nonconformances, and strengthen quality accountability on the floor.
The ideal candidate has practical manufacturing-quality experience, understands ISO-based quality systems, and is comfortable balancing hands-on floor support with documentation, corrective action, and team leadership. They should be able to investigate issues independently, communicate clearly, and drive improvement rather than simply inspect finished work.
Responsibilities
-
Lead and prioritize the daily work of quality inspectors and technicians, ensuring consistent inspection execution and documentation.
- Support and maintain a Quality Management System aligned with ISO 9001 requirements, company procedures, and applicable customer standards.
- Investigate product and process nonconformances, lead root-cause analysis, and drive corrective and preventive actions through completion.
- Conduct regular production-floor audits to verify process adherence, identify quality risks, and improve overall quality discipline.
- Track quality metrics, analyze recurring trends, and communicate performance, risks, and recommended actions to Quality and Operations leadership.
- Coach production and quality employees on inspection expectations, quality standards, documentation, and problem-solving methods.
- Support internal and external audit preparation, recordkeeping, and follow-up activities.
- Partner with Production, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and ensure customer requirements are met.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of quality experience in manufacturing, metal fabrication, welding, or another industrial environment.
- Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001 principles.
- Experience with nonconformance handling, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and quality documentation.
- Strong communication, organization, and independent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively on both the production floor and in an office setting.
- Prior leadership experience, ASQ certification, Six Sigma training, or a technical degree is preferred.
