Summary

TES Recruiting Solutions is partnering with a growing metal fabrication manufacturer seeking a Senior QC Inspector to support quality assurance efforts across fabrication, welding, and structural inspection activities. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical knowledge of welding inspections, dimensional verification, NDT/DT processes, and structural code compliance.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly on the production floor, collaborating with operations and fabrication teams to maintain quality standards while supporting continuous improvement efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections on welded assemblies, fabricated components, and structural parts
• Conduct visual inspections along with nondestructive and destructive testing activities
• Operate tensile testing and mechanical testing equipment as needed
• Verify weld quality and compliance to applicable standards including AWS D1.1, AWS D1.7, and ASME B31.3
• Review material certifications, welder qualifications, inspection records, and quality documentation
• Verify dimensions, fit-up, layouts, and tolerances using precision measuring equipment
• Identify and document non-conforming materials and quality issues (NCRs)
• Support corrective actions and help troubleshoot fabrication or welding-related quality concerns
• Maintain accurate inspection logs and quality records within company systems
• Work closely with production personnel and leadership to reinforce quality expectations and standards

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in metal fabrication, welding inspection, or structural quality inspection
• Strong blueprint and engineering drawing interpretation skills
• Familiarity with MIG and TIG welding processes
• Experience with structural fabrication quality standards and coating inspections, ideally. 
• Proficiency using calipers, micrometers, weld gauges, feeler gauges, and related inspection tools
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to spend extended periods on the production floor
• Comfortable working in manufacturing and confined-space environments when required

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual salary range: $60,000 – $80,000
• Annual performance bonus up to $5,000 based on performance
