Location: Baytown, TX

Shift Options:

  • Day Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Evening Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM

Pay:

  • Starting Pay: $16.00/hour
  • Evening Shift Differential: +$2.00/hour

Summary

Swiftemp is currently seeking Welding Preppers / Fabrication Helpers for a growing manufacturing facility in Baytown, Texas. This position supports TIG welding operations by preparing stainless steel components, fittings, and assemblies for production. The ideal candidate will have manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, pipefitting, or welding support experience. Candidates must be able to read a tape measure, follow work instructions, maintain quality standards, and work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 

This is a critical role within the production process. We are seeking dependable individuals who can consistently follow procedures, produce quality work, and contribute to a team-oriented environment. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare metal components and assemblies for welding operations.

  • Cut, clean, grind, deburr, and fit parts according to production requirements.

  • Assemble components prior to welding.

  • Verify materials and parts against work orders and specifications.

  • Operate hand tools, grinders, sanders, and other fabrication equipment.

  • Stage materials and support welding personnel throughout the production process.

  • Perform visual inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards before welding.

  • Complete required production documentation.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

  • Follow all company safety and quality procedures.

  • Assist with other manufacturing and production duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, or welding support experience preferred.

  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, grinders, or measuring devices.

  • Ability to read and follow work instructions.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous welding prep or fabrication experience.

  • Experience working with stainless steel products.

  • Experience supporting TIG welding operations.

  • Manufacturing experience in metal fabrication, hose assembly, tubing, or related industries.

  • Forklift experience is a plus.
